darkness descends
mob drifts away
eleven men cower
in terror hopes
like unkept promises
die nailed
between two thieves
all is lost
death is death
Jesus broke the rules

Sunday in mourning
still running scared
two women spin
a tale angels
intrigue hope
stone's been moved
body too
impossible
Jesus broke the rules

steeped in confusion
Peter and John run on
ahead not comprehending
truth revealed
gave sight to blind eyes
heaven rejoiced
first Easter morning
Jesus broke the rules

He lives!
